The Hubbard County Housing and Redevelopment Authority is a municipal corporation created in 1995 by the Hubbard County Board under the authority granted in Minnesota Statues. The HRA is governed by a five member Board of Directors appointed by the Hubbard County Board.
The HRA contracts with the Headwaters Regional Development Commission for staff support. Staff manages all HRA activities including development, down payment assistance, housing rehabilitation and creation of new initiatives.
In its initial years of operation Hubbard County HRA focused its attention on the rehabilitation of substandard housing units throughout Hubbard County and a rural homesteading program called MURL. They also developed affordable single family houses for sale to moderate income home buyers in partnership with the Nevis High School. Hubbard County HRA also administers down payment assistance programs. They continue to be interested in those projects that assist low and moderate income households obtain housing and working with communities in Hubbard County address their critical housing and redevelopment needs.
